The Marketing and Business Development department is undergoing an exciting phase of evolution and we are now looking to bolster the team with the addition of a new Marketing Assistant who can provide support to the growing Marketing team.

 

The department

The Business Development (BD) team currently comprises two individuals who play a leading role in the implemention of Peters & Peters' marketing and business development strategy. Their role comprises all aspects of BD and marketing including communications, PR, general and social media, website design, marketing campaigns and events management. They are also responsible for tracking BD activity and carrying out data analysis on work referral sources.

The role

The Marketing Assistant will report to the Head of Marketing and Business Development and will provide general support for our marketing and business development team for an initial six month period. This new and exciting role will present a fantastic opportunity for someone who has an interest in the corporate or legal world and who may be interested in pursuing a career in marketing and business development. Duties will vary day to day depending on business need but, over time, the individual is likely to take on specific responsibility for regular and more scheduled tasks, developing their communication, organisation, IT and administration skills. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assistance compiling and cross-referencing legal directory submissions.
  • Reviewing, formatting and drafting documents and emails.
  • Agenda preparation and minute taking.
  • Events preparation including name badges and promotional materials.
  • Attendance of firm events to assist with registration and greeting clients.
  • Data management including keeping contact lists up to date.
  • Filing correspondence and organising marketing folders.
  • Working with the PAs to book meetings and assist with firm-wide diary management.
  • Diary management of the marketing and business development team.
  • Meeting management and room bookings.
  • Some venue research for events.
  • Supporting the events committee on internal P&P events.
  • Provide general assistance to the Head of Marketing and Business Development, and the marketing team.

The person

We ideally require the following qualities:

  • Effective organisational skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle a busy and changing workload.
  • Very good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
  • A proactive and positive approach.
  • Grade A - C in GCSE Maths and English.
