The Marketing and Business Development department is undergoing an exciting phase of evolution and we are now looking to bolster the team with the addition of a new Marketing Manager who can help us deliver our plans for growth.

The department

The Business Development (BD) team currently comprises two individuals who play a leading role in the implemention of Peters & Peters' marketing and business development strategy. Their role comprises all aspects of BD and marketing including communications, PR, general and social media, website design, marketing campaigns and events management. They are also responsible for tracking BD activity and carrying out data analysis on work referral sources.

The role

The Marketing Manager will report to the Head of Marketing and Business Development and will play a leading role in the development and implementation of an ambitious marketing and business development plan in line with our business development strategy. Responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive and multi-channel marketing campaigns, from inception through project planning to delivery, measurement and evaluation.
  • Deploy and develop our marketing technology including our CRM (InterAction), events software (Vuture) and website (WordPress) among others.
  • Some copy-editing including writing, reviewing and editing content for various marketing channels, ensuring consistency with the firm's tone of voice.
  • Collaborate with members of the marketing team and wider firm to develop a range of marketing initiatives in line with our business development strategy.
  • Take a lead on the management of the firms’ social media channels.
  • Briefing and managing external agencies to produce high quality creative campaigns that ensure the application of our brand guidelines and delivery of projects to deadline.
  • Coordinate articles from across the firm ensuring that they are promoted in a timely way.
  • Over-see legal directories and awards submissions.
  • Set up and provide regular reporting on the performance of campaigns, social media, website, and other channels.
  • Advise Partners and Associates on the best approach to achieve their business and marketing objectives. Create strategic marketing and campaign plans and manage through to completion.
  • Promote the capabilities and skills of the Marketing and Business Development team internally to raise awareness and provide support to the wider firm.
  • Develop and manage in-house marketing training and inductions.

The person

You should have some, but not necessarily all the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience, with a good track record in a marketing or business development role.
  • Experience of working in a law firm or financial / professional service organisations.
  • Proven track record of managing successful marketing campaigns from conception to implementation and measurement.
  • CIM qualified (or equivalent), studying towards CIM, or willing to work towards qualification.
  • Experience of CMS and CRM systems, social media platforms, email marketing tools, and marketing analytics systems.
  • Experience in planning, managing and optimising digital/social media.
  • Experience in planning, managing and delivering online and in-person events.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Well-developed organisational and confident communication skills.
  • Excellent copywriting, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Pragmatic, self-motivated, flexible and able to work both in a team and individually as required.
  • High professional standards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
